The Trip to Bountiful Highlights

Adjunct faculty member, Professor Joe Kluge, guest blogs with us today! Here he reviews his evening with Dean Sam Grogg at the screening of The Trip to Bountiful.

Last Thursday's The Art of Film & Video's  extra credit class screening of Masterson's THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL unspooled to the largest audience we've had so far this semester! And why not? How often do we have an academy award winning film introduced by the Executive Producer and one of the founding partners of FilmDallas Pictures. FilmDallas helped pioneer the independent film revolution of the 1980s that forever changed the entertainment industry and movies we see today!

An Executive Producer who also happens to be none other than our very own Dean Grogg.

Dr. Grogg offered a packed house insights into what it means to develop and produce an independent film, from how to find a literary property and put a cast together, to how to cope with the sensitive needs of your cast as well as the finicky demands of producing on a tight budget!

I want to once again thank Sam Grogg and both my sections for a spectacular evening of cinema camaraderie!

My apologies for running out of Pizza. Next time warn me if you are expecting to bring extra guests!
